Lovetinsky, Guilinger Reach Double Digits in Loss at Illinois Valley

Hailey Lovetinsky (Overland Park, Kan./Spring Hill) and Hayley Guilinger (Thomson, Ill./West Carroll) each hit three 3-pointers, but Illinois Valley handed the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team a 65-55 loss Wednesday night.

Lovetinsky scored 13 of her team-leading 15 points in the second quarter as the Chargers (9-13, 2-2) trailed 36-33 at halftime, but IVCC opened up a 40-30 lead entering the fourth.

Guilinger reached double digits for the first time as a Charger, scoring all 11 of her points in the fourth quarter for Sandburg.

The Chargers are in action again at 5:30 p.m. tonight when they host Sauk Valley.
